Vulnerability details

Impact

The initial mint could create uncontrolled amount of shares. An attacker can call the mint function in the public vault right after it is created and set number of minted share to max uint256. It requires the attacker to deposit 10 WETH. However after that no liquidity provider could deposit any fund because of the number of share is maximized (no more share could be minted).

Proof of Concept

• A strategist creates a public vault.
• Attacker listens to the event NewVault from AstariaRouter contract to identify new created public vault.
• Attacker call functions mint in public vault and set number of minted share to 2^256 - 1.
• No other liquidity provider could deposit fund into the vault since the number of share is maximized.

Recommended Mitigation Steps

There are some way to mitigate the risks:

1. Remove the mint function (only allow create new shares by using deposit function).
2. Change back the mint function to ratio 1:1 between shares and assets.

The address of the receiver token need to be checked with address(0) to avoid unexpected behaviour and errors.
